my philosophy

Don’t get lost in the details, get lost in the moment.

I hate the idea that someone can spend months pouring their soul into planning a party just to miss out on actually enjoying the party. If you let yourself get lost in all the details you might just miss the sweet moments of your wedding. The day of your wedding doesn’t have to be a whirlwind of endless questions and tasks. Rest assured I will be taking care of everything so your friends, closest family, you and your fiancé can enjoy your wedding!

I am the type of person to have many hobbies that come and go- volleyball, snowboarding, crocheting, ice skating, hiking, sewing, doing nails, making coffee, and more. The one hobby I have always loved and the only one I have not let go of is anything and everything events.

Through planning baby showers, birthday parties, weddings, family gatherings, brunches, and neighborhood festivals, I have learned so much over the years. The small details, people, special moments, and memories have made me more and more in love with events, and specifically weddings.

I have seen the difference it makes on a wedding day to have a steady and prepared Day-of Coordinator, and want to be that person for couples and families so they can be present on their special day.

About the name

My hometown means a lot to me, and when I wrote down “Emerald Isle Events” I knew it was the name for my business. I am from an Island in Alaska nicknamed the “Emerald Isle” because of the lush blanket of rich green that covers the mountainous island in the summers- Kodiak Island. It truly is a special place, and piece of who I am.
